New Hampshire joins monitoring of Maine health co-op

New Hampshire joins monitoring of Maine health co-op Insurance regulators in New Hampshire are working with their counterparts in Maine to monitor Community Health Options, a health insurance cooperative serving both states.

Community Health Options is one of five companies offering individual ACA plans, according to The Washington Times.

New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny said that his priority is to ensure that New Hampshire’s customers are treated fairly.

The cooperative was the only one in the country to profit from the ACA’s public insurance exchanges in 2014. Last year, however, it saw big losses and stopped taking new customers in December.

The Maine Bureau of Insurance announced the previous week that it will be monitoring the cooperative through financial updates monthly.
