The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers (Liberty) has announced the appointment of Jeff Schmidt (pictured) as its new vice president, commercial lines.

Speaking about his new role, Schmidt said that he was enticed by the company’s core values as he would like to contribute to a firm that puts a priority on professional excellence while having a positive atmosphere in work.

“I was immediately drawn to the company’s core values of ‘Integrity, Excellence, Caring, Kindness, Fairness, Teamwork, Good Feelings and Fun’,” he said. “These values embody the kind of environment where individuals thrive, and I am eager to contribute my skills and expertise to a team that prioritizes both professional excellence and a positive, enjoyable work atmosphere.”

Schmidt began his career in insurance as a commercial, multi-line underwriter. He eventually held leadership roles where he handled national sales directorship and specialized in professional liability, cyber, and employee benefits in insurance brokerage. Over the years, Schmidt has received licenses as a casualty, property, special lines surplus lines broker, and surplus lines broker.

Schmidt’s appointment follows a batch of recent moves by Liberty, with the most recent being the addition of Neal Rubin and Andrew Bernau as senior vice president for benefits and SVP and commercial lines producer, respectively. Prior to that, the broker also appointed Christopher Orozco as an employee benefits producer in March.

The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers is a privately held insurance brokerage. It provides a platform for agency leaders and entrepreneurial producers which allows them to serve clients and create equity. It currently operates in all 50 states in the US and has expanded through partnerships with agency owners and experienced producers.
