A tornado sweeping through Jackson County, Alabama left three fatalities and several others injured on Wednesday. The tornado was part of a storm system that has been pounding the Deep South since early this week.
Quoting the National Weather Service, an
AccuWeather report said another tornado was spotted in Tennessee on Tuesday as pea sized hail descended on the locale. Trees were felled and power lines went down as a result of the raging weather.
Tornadoes and heavy winds have caused much damage throughout the South, the report also said.
More tornadoes are expected to descend from central and north eastern Louisiana to western and northern Mississippi and part of southwestern Tennessee. Further, the cities of Monroe, Louisiana, as well as Jackson,
Vicksburg and Tupelo, Mississippi continue to be under threat from the severe storm system.
AccuWeather also said that strong thunderstorms, resulting in urban flooding could hit Nashville, New Orleans and Birmingham, Alabama.
