USI Insurance Services has named Christopher Callahan to the post of vice president for employee benefits at its Rhode Island practice.

In a company statement, Patrick Canavan, USI New England regional practice leader, noted, “Chris is an important addition to the USI New England region and employee benefits team. He is highly talented and I am excited to have him join our team in Rhode Island.”

Callahan will help clients create “competitive and cost effective benefit programs” that span group medical, dental, life, disability, voluntary and wellness initiatives for both fully and self-insured arrangements, according to the statement. Furthermore, he will be responsible for executive and strategic oversight of marketing and negotiations.

The new USI vice president has a degree in marketing from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He has a CICS designation. Callahan is also a member of the Community Advisory Board and Young Leaders Circle for the United Way of Rhode Island.
