RGL Forensics is consolidating its technological capabilities to support its investigations, and has set up a second laboratory in New York with this goal in mind. The New York facility will serve as a complement to its London laboratory.

RGL is a leading financial investigations company specializing in global insurance, corporate and legal markets.

The firm said in a statement that it has also appointed Duc Nguyen as forensics technology manager – Nguyen had previously served with the United States Marine Corps and the Fort Worth Police Department.

In his new post, Nguyen will focus on digital forensics and provide analysis for the prosecution of criminal cases and data loss investigation in organizations. He will also head a team that will provide comprehensive computer forensics services, including cyber investigations, digital information analysis and electronic documents processing.

“The establishment of our forensic technology lab in New York represents a milestone for RGL, and a complement to our… (laboratory) in London. The core of what we offer is not just compiling information, but analyzing it to draw conclusions and patterns,” RGL chief executive Angela MacPhee said in the statement.

Nguyen comes to RGL from JP Morgan Chase where he provided analytic and forensic support for internal investigations and external law enforcement agencies.

RGL’s technology forensics practice is supported by its proprietary software and algorithms to examine data efficiently to detect patterns, trends, or anomalies that will lead to further investigation, identification, and quantification of fraud or suspected fraud.
