In response to feedback from its business insurance customers and appointed agents, Travelers recently unrolled new enhancements to its e-CARMA suite of risk management information tools and services. Demonstrated at the RIMS 2014 conference in Denver, the latest version of e-CARMA allows both customers and brokers quick access to important performance measures.

The 30-year-old portal now features claims status and analysis, a client newsletter, OSHA reporting technology and the My Diary application from the homepage. Different tabs also include graphic-focused reports of the client’s entire loss history, with breakdowns demonstrating report days and most common causes of loss.

These reports are customizable by time period, the level of organization, location and accident cause. Travelers also compiles industry-wide statistics so clients can compare their loss history to the industry average.

The goal is to incorporate all claims management and analysis into one application, Travelers executives said.

“Today’s insurance customer and broker expects things graphically,” said Mike Strietelmeier, Vice President, RMIS at Travelers. “Everything is right here, and you can drill down to view just about any aspect of a claim for all lines of business—not just workers’ comp.”

The e-CARMA technology has been successful for Travelers, increasing its user base from 50,000 to 100,000 in just three years. Available in both the US and Canada, Travelers customers may access the database on-the-go through mobile and tablet technology anywhere in the world.
