Ironshore appoints new chief underwriting officer for global products

Homand’s duties include overseeing underwriting responsibilities and global product growth strategies

Ironshore Inc. announced Tuesday that it has appointed Shawn Homand as Chief Underwriting Officer of Global Property.

As chief underwriting officer, Homand will “oversee underwriting responsibilities and global product growth strategies throughout Ironshore’s property platform.” He will be based in Boston, reporting to Global Property president Tony Mammolite.

“Shawn’s recognized expertise and deep rooted knowledge of complex property risks will prove invaluable as we continue to meet coverage challenges within this fluctuating sector of the insurance market,” said Mammolite of Homand.

Homand has 30 years of experience serving in various regional management and underwriting positions for property risks. Prior to joining Ironshore, Homand was Property Underwriting Officer, Americas Region for AIG Property and Casualty. Before that, he was National Branch Property Manager for Lexington Insurance Company and Regional Vice President for Japan and Korea Property at AIG.

Ironshore Global Property provides insurance products for various business lines, including Commercial Property, Real Estate, Energy and Business Risk.
